Healthy Snacks

Growing kids often get hungry between meals.

However, many packaged snacks for kids are extremely unhealthy. They’re often full of refined flour, added sugars, and artificial ingredients.

Snack time is a great opportunity to sneak some extra nutrients into your child’s diet.

Have you seen the entrance to the grocery stores these days? These back to school snacks like cookies, chips and candy are no bueno, and it’s tempting to throw them in your cart!

Instead of highly processed snack foods, fill your child’s tummy with whole foods that will provide energy and nutrition.

Here are some back to school healthy and easy lunch ideas!

1) Balance it: Add fruit, veggies, protein and carbs for a balanced meal to keep your kiddo’s body fueled
2) Brighten it: The brighter the colors are, the more exciting it is! Experiment with bright colored fruits and veggies high in antioxidants
3) Break it down: Cutting food into smaller pieces not only makes it easier to chew, but makes it more exciting!
4) Mix it up: Change things around and vary lunches from day to day. A bit of variety prevents the dreaded “I don’t want that”!
